If you're out on the hills for a longish day then sometimes you just need to take more stuff, especially in Spring and Autumn when British weather can do almost anything. It could be cold so you need a spare fleece, or wet and windy so decent waterproofs are vital, then get warm and sunny so all the layers end up in your sack.
The Trail 35 is capacious enough to cope with all this, but has an Airzone back system so that the weight is well distributed onto your hips and air can circulate around your back and prevent you dripping with sweat. All the essential features are there - zipped top pockets inside and out (the former with a key clip - often forgotten but vital), compression straps, a rain cover (with a drainage hole in its compartment so that the cover doesn't just sit in an airtight puddle going mouldy but dries!) and two side bottle pockets (plus hydration compatibility if you prefer to go that way). The "slide in" front pocket keeps a map handy and there are two stretchy pockets on the belt for things you want to get at quickly (phone or camera for instance). A sack with lots of careful thought in its design - the trekking pole holders ensure that the poles don't wobble about and poke somebody, while the chest strap clip doubles as a whistle!
